Hello! Welcome. I am a member of the South Pasadena School Board. I am running for another term on the School Board, and I hope that I can count on your support. I believe I am an integral part of a board that works very well together to accomplish its goals for the benefit of our beloved community, and I would like to ensure that this Board’s goals and accomplishments continue to go forward in a positive direction.
A lot has been accomplished in the past four years since my re-election in 2007. We selected our current superintendent, Joel Shapiro, who has provided strong leadership. The past two years have seen two of our schools receive the California Distinguished School Award. Despite extremely tight budget constraints, we are one of the few districts still able to offer small class sizes in Kindergarten through 3rd grade, and there are many other positive things happening in our school district, including a new, beautiful library and gym at the Middle School.
With all of the accomplishments in our district, I am especially proud that we have been able to put into place strategic goals that we can focus on. The current School Board, district staff, teachers and the community have a particularly strong working relationship. We have accomplished a lot and we continue to strive for improvements.
With my experience, common sense approach and commitment to our kids, I will continue to work to prepare our students for the future. I look forward to hearing from you, and I hope I have earned your support. Thank you.
