Issues

If it were not for our community to be concerned about our schools, they would not be as good as they are. These are some of the current issues surrounding our schools and the facts behind them.

Track and field
Q. Will it be completed in time to play any football games?
A. Yes, it is on schedule for the Oct. 26 home game with La Canada? In fact, the football field is already completed.

Q. What about the track?
A. The Mondo track is on the ground and waiting for the lane stripes to be painted at this time.

Q. I heard that the cost was way over budget?
A. The cost was about $400K more than anticipated and part of the problem was the miscommunications about the total cost. The entire cost for the track and field is $2.6M.

Q. What is the schedule for the baseball field?
A. The timeline has the baseball field completed for the February start of the season.

Middle School construction
Q. What is being done at the middle school construction project?
A. It is currently in Phase II that is scheduled for completion in March 2008. This phase will create classrooms from the administration offices. The admninistrative staff is currently working in the auditorium, on the first and second floors.

Q. Does that mean the students will move back into the new classrooms in March?
A. No, the administrative staff decided not to disrupt the students' schedule, so even though the classrooms will be completed in March, the students will use the new classrooms in the fall. The bungalows in the athletic playing fields will be removed before the 2008-2009 academic years begins.
